Past Exhibits
A Time Before Texas was a special exhibit at the Honey Grove Library & Learning Center, highlighting ancient Indigenous cultures of the region. On display from March 1–29, 2025, the exhibit featured artifacts on loan from Humanities Texas alongside local discoveries. The opening included a presentation by archaeologist Cody Davis, who shared insights from his work around Bois d'Arc Lake. The exhibit offered a meaningful look into the early history of the area, free for all to attend.
The Art of Birds exhibit at the Honey Grove Library & Learning Center celebrated the beauty of birds through a diverse collection of artwork and photography. Showcasing pieces from Gary and Sandra Fernandes, local photographers, and student artists, the exhibit ran for six weeks beginning April 13, 2024. Visitors also enjoyed a series of expert-led Saturday presentations on birding and nature, making the exhibit a vibrant blend of art, education, and community.
The State Fair exhibit, hosted by the Honey Grove Library & Learning Center, showcased photographer Arthur Grace’s vivid journey through fairs in ten states. On display from September 12 to October 21, 2023, the exhibit captured the quirky charm and evolving spirit of these iconic American events. Produced by the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History and presented with Humanities Texas, the exhibit offered a nostalgic and colorful glimpse into fair culture across the country.
