Time Before Texas

The Honey Grove Library & Learning Center was pleased to announce the opening of a new exhibit on Saturday, March 1st. Entitled "A Time Before Texas," the exhibit focused on ancient Indigenous cultures in the area. On display was an exhibit on loan from Humanities Texas, along with locally collected artifacts.

In addition, the library hosted a presentation by local archaeologist Cody Davis, Principal Investigator and Project Manager with AR Consultants, Inc. Cody presented on Saturday, March 1st at 11 a.m. in Lyday Hall, where he shared insights into his work around the Bois d'Arc Lake area.

The exhibit remained on display from March 1–29, 2025, during regular library hours. Those interested in the early history of the region were encouraged to attend. Both the exhibit and the presentations were free of charge.
