Time For Texas Exhibit

"A Time Before Texas" features stories and locally-collected artifacts from sites dating back to the Paleoindian era, as well as children's art projects made with native techniques. The exhibit will be available for viewing during open library hours.

GUEST SPEAKER - LEWIS SMITH
SATURDAY, MARCH 22ND - 11AM

When local collector Lewis Smith isn't behind the pulpit at his church or the podium in his history classroom, you will most likely find him exploring ancient riverbeds seeking to add to his museum-like collection of stone artifacts left behind by Texas' ancient inhabitants. He has even helped excavate the fossilized remains of a Mosasaur, a type of marine dinosaur that roamed the shallow seas that once covered his neck of the woods more than 70,000,000 years ago. Join us on Saturday, March 22nd to learn about Lewis' extensive collection and adventures collecting along the Sulphur.
